TJ Machine Learning

Captain (2022-23)

Teaching Coordinator (2021-22)

I joined the TJML club in 9th grade and learned about several machine learning concepts in the weekly sessions. I used several of these concepts in my own research projects and internships. As the Captain of the club, I organize weekly content for 60 students every week and frequently give lectures and coordinate activities. For the advanced group, I help organize discussions about recent research such as AlphaFold by DeepMind. We cover concepts such as Decision Trees and SVMs in the beginner group. We are also working on creating an in-person student research fair to be hosted in 2023.

Intermediate Computer Team

Co-Captain (2021-22)

Member (2019-21)

I started going to this club in 9th grade and learned about several algorithms that helped me reach USACO Gold and do well in other competitive programming contests. I represented the school team at the 2021 UVA High School Programming Contest and at ACSL contests. During my junior year, I served as the co-captain for the club and frequently gave lectures about important algorithms and concepts such as binary search, prefix sums, and segment trees. Around 60 students attended the weekly meetings and participated in practice contests which the other officers and I wrote.

Varsity Math Team

Contest Representative & Member (2019-22)

Math team was the first club I joined my freshman year. Since then I have been involved in several of their activities and travelled with the team to go to competitions. Most recently, I represented the school at the American Regional Math League (ARML) contest hosted at Penn State University. These contests consist of both team rounds and individual tests. I have also guest lectured for the club at after school meets to help teach students about concepts including modular arithmetic, logarithms, and recursive functions.
